We don't want to see the packet when we've forwarded it to the next neighbor, and we overhear them forwarding it again! Because in that case we hear their packet and think we can get the the SOURCE through them! Which is true, except to get the SOURCE, that neighbor has to go through THIS ADDRESS anyway! So really, we only want to remember packets that we've sent out. And of course we discard all packets that we've seen before! Now, this will automatically prevent loops, because if a packet is sent to us that we have in fact forwarded previously, it will be dropped!
